Rick hosts/performs at Water Docs Film Festival

Rick is delighted to be involved with the Water Docs Film Festival, happening at the AGO in Toronto from March 21-29 2014.

A documentary film festival about all things water, Water Docs presents features and shorts, discussions with special guests and filmmakers, and opportunities to take action to protect water. The festival informs, educates and activates our audiences about water and water issues. The likelihood of having enough clean, fresh water is diminishing everywhere. Ontarians can no longer afford to be complacent about water. Attitudes and practices must change – now, not ten years from now. So, for the love of water, come join us!

Rick will first host the Opening Night of the festival on March 21st, featuring the World Premiere of Cold Amazon: The Mackenzie River Basin (2014) & the launch of the Campaign for Action.

The festival continues to March 29th, with amazing films, events and guest speakers scheduled every day (including World Water Day, March 22).

On March 23rd, bring your kids to the Water Docs Family Day, offering hands on activities for children ages 4 and up. Come and find out how much you would need to pedal on a bike to get enough energy for bringing a glass of water to the AGO. Kids will have a bike connected to a water pump; attend a hands-on workshop on how to build water filters, and build bridges with paper and to look at the impact on a river. Kids will also travel with the Water Brothers and the Waterkeepers to the First Nation communities and out to the Pacific Ocean.

On March 26th, Rick will host and give a lecture/performance of HARDSELL for the Water Docs @ School Recognition event. The topic: how to break through the hard cell of cynicism. This is a private program for participating schools.
